When Siobhan Davis writes high-school-bully-teenage-angst, she writes high-school-bully-teenage-angst! I was a bit cautious to dive into this series. I'm not one for bullying, but since I'm such a huge fan of Siobhan's writing I took a chance. And I'm so glad that I did. At Rydeville High, you have the old elite group, which breaking it down into sports team you have the Varsity A team. When a new group infiltrates the town and the school, battle lines are forced to be drawn. That group is also the new elite, which going back to sports team is like the Varsity B team. Both very talented and influential. The old elite is a group of rich families that come from old money. Passes down from generation to generation with the kids growing up thrusted into arranged marriages to keep the peace between the families. The new elite are families where their money is not from previous generations, but from newer times where the men in the family had to work to gain their wealthy status. I'm glad I didn't grow up in the North, because this just doesn't happen down south. Back to my review...Abby is part of the old elite Cam is part of the new elite. Their paths crossed before and they knew it was smart to keep what happened between them a secret. I don't like that Cam bullied Abby because that's what he was trained to do. I do like the build up of hot sizzling chemistry between Abby and Cam. I got a bit of Surviving Amber Springs vibes when Abby was with the three boys. Together they were intimidating and insanely attractive, but one-on-one was where Abby couldn't control her emotions. Speaking of another Siobhan book, did anyone catch the mention of Alex Kennedy? I love when books make tiny appearances. But the bomb drop at the end was what had my jaw unhinged. Starting book #2 ASAP!!!

Major cliffhanger oh my God. I literally have words. I physically broke down in this book. Made me ball my eyes out.

Umm stop, I'm absolutely so hooked. I don't even have words right now.
What a great book, with twists and turns. I love Abby and how she was a strong FMC. There were a few times where I was a little lost, but was able to piece together what was going on. I can't wait to read the next book.

Okay. Man. Okay. Breathe.
Every guy I’ve read about this week seems to be a fucking asshole.
4.25 screaming-into-my-hand stars.
Fuck. Like this was... fuck. There were two moments in this book that physically made my heart beat faster and harder. I felt my heart pounding.
I’m kind of turned off by Abby and Cam having 3 books to be honest. I thought this was a stand-alone. Guess not. But I mean... I’m kind of intrigued.

Five awesome stars for Cam and Abby. This is the first book I’ve read by Siobhan Davis and OMG it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoy Siobhan’s writing style. This book was so easy to read. It’s a real page turner. This is one of those books where you’ll want to keep reading because you have to know what happens next. Abby and Cam are very complex characters and both intrigued me from the very beginning. I am dying for the next book, and I’m not even done PROCESSING this one. If you love a good bully romance, you NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!

This is the first book in the Rydeville Elite series and it was my first time reading a dark bully romance book. The first half of the book made me want to put the book down and DNF it. But I made myself push through and I'm glad I did. While in the first quarter or so of the book there was not one character I liked, the main female character began to grow on me after learning some of her background. I enjoyed the book though not as much as other I have read by Siobhan (read the Kennedy Boys series😍🤤). However there are 5 more books in the series so I am hoping to enjoy the series as a whole.
The Young and the Cruel
Let me start by saying, this book is very triggery and is not going to be kosher with most people. It’s dark and messed up and you have to be at least a little screwed in the head to love it like I did. The heroine (and others in the book) are made to go through so many horrors by both the hero(es?) and other characters that you want to look away. But you can’t.
Even though she goes through all of these horrible things, our heroine Abby is no angel herself. She has the same killer instinct as her family and friends and she’s willing to do what it takes for revenge and/or justice, no matter how despicable. Her grey maybe lighter than the others’, but the lines are all blurred and no one is pure. They’re all manipulative and have their own hidden agendas. And did I mention they are all teenagers? Because they are, all of them. Except the parents. It’s crazy sauce, alright.
This is like a combination of Cruel Intentions (the movie) and your average bully romance on steroids, y’all. It is dark and intense and effed up and bananas, like a book of this kind should be. In fact, I started out critical of the prologue (for spoilery reasons I won’t mention), but soon I was so damn hooked! Also beware of brutal cliffhanger, and the next book comes out in August.

It’s definitely not for the light hearted. Some scenes are so graphic and dark, that I needed to put the book down and take a breather just to wrap my mind around the chaos.
It’s full of twists and turns, and drama! It’s amazing, no doubt! But be prepared for having to read through acts of violence, rape, espionage etc.
