One of my favorite fairytales is Urashima and the dragon palace, so when there was also mention of Beauty and the Beast elements I was instantly hooked. I adored this book!

Tru and Elang are now one of my favorite couples. The yearning and confusion between these two was perfect. The way their story unfolded was beautiful and bittersweet. And the scenes between the two are so vivid in my mind as I read. Tru's joy of noodles had me constantly craving my own. Elang had me riveted, I couldn't wait to see how his vows, words, and actions would truly play out. Definitely was not disappointed, though my heart about shattered towards the end.

I really enjoyed the world and stricking descriptions. I could smell the chilies and noodles, or see the beautiful and bleak underwater world full of mermaids and turtles.

I truly enjoyed A Forgery of Fate and can't wait to get more people to read this just so I can share my love of Tru and Elang.

This was a beautiful fantasy romance. I LOVE dragons! Tru was strong main character and even though Elang was exasperating at times their love story was cute. The twists the plot took kept me guessing so I liked that the book kept surprising me. And the world building had me kind of hoping for a sequel even though the author did a great job wrapping the story up!

I got this book as a recommendation but also because the cover had me SOLD.
Pros and Cons:
Pros
1. This book is genuinely one of the most gorgeous book covers I have seen in my entire life.
2. It was a cool fusion of Asian cultures and covered a large variety of mystical creatures.
Cons:
1. Took me 3 TIMES longer than usual to read it.
2. It got boring and I took a break from it for 2 or 3 days.
3. The battle/fighting scenes made absolutely NO sense to me. Maybe it's just me but it was a little bit crazy for my head to read.
