This is not just any virus, although it has characteristics similar to zombies, which are generally of unknown origin. This virus is an anti-life equation that Darkseid so wanted to find, and obviously due to the nature of the equation it is uncontrollable and in a somewhat forced way it is spread by the only DC character who has the ability to connect with any electronic device. Below is a series of events where several characters die who initially could have stopped the spread but are conveniently discarded for the plot but quickly and elegantly and since it is the first of five story arcs I am obviously going to continue reading them. .

Entertaining... but déjà vu. Blackest Night, Marvel Zombies, Stephen King’s Cell...etc. Although the premise here is different and inventive, the story was, to some extent, predictable.

How does that old proverb go?
If it looks like a duck,
quacks like a duck,
walks like a duck,
It's obviously a goose.
...
I mean, you've got wild, disfigured&shambling, undead people gunning for human flesh, and they make a point to say that they are NOT zombies? Call em "extensions of the Anti-Life Equation spread by a techno-organic virus" all you want, these unholy MarthaFockers are for all intents & purposes, ZOMBIES!

But yeah, very interesting to see all the counter measures the heroes (and some villains) of the DC verse do to try and staunch the plague of the undead. And when each contingency fails, thankfully the DC version of space has many hospitable planets so they could very well just pick up and move elsewhere (maybe Mogo would HAVE to learn to socialize? Hahaha).
Also, chalk one up for relatively obscure characters showing up for one-shot street cred. Having only seen the Legends of Tomorrow version of Waverider (both as ship & lady), it's fascinating to see the canon version as...a knockoff Firestorm?
Great read even if the zombie genre is itself the walking dead.

I loooved this. I'm always a sucker for a zombie apocalypse type of story. It was great to see the powers of both the hero's and the infected come into play, especially towards the lasy few issues.

Harley and Ivy were chefs kiss, and Oliver's snark had me smiling every single issue I swear

Pretty fun, well paced. Relied on extant canon, but not so much that I was lost

Excellent comic! Kinda annoyed at my self for taking so long to read it, but since I haven’t read a lot of DC other than Batman and Harley Quinn, this was a great introduction honestly!

It started pretty full on, and managed to keep it up through the whole first volume, with a great/exciting end. Oh and also; the art on the variant covers!?! Sooo good!

In summary: Both traumatizing and just the right amount funny!
Here are some of my fav quotes to confirm the latter:

“But if he can turn back time. If he can find a way..”
“Are your last words really going to be quoting Cher”
“I like Cher”

“I am the most intelligent person on the planet and… Wait. Batman is dead yes?”
“Yes”
“Right. Then I’m the most intelligent person on the planet […]”

“You’re hurt Batman didn’t have a post mortem machiavellian plan to end you?”
“Well, yeah”
(This is very much giving Joker in Lego Batman)

“I’ve seen so much of the universe… You’re the best thing in it”
(Not funny one, but just very cute and sad)

Great comic 5/5
