As a person with five siblings, this hit hard. Beautiful, heartwarming, and relatable to anyone with younger sibling's. My biggest worry is that I will grow apart from my siblings, or that we'll have unhealth relationships in the future. This is book was the best and worst thing I could read, especially considering what my older brother is going through. It was a bit hard to get through, and got a bit slow a points. But that makes since, as it's not supposed to be very action packed. I obviously cried at the end- that was expected.
Beautiful, elegant, and heartbreaking/warming.

I couldn’t get into the characters or writing style….I felt distant from them all despite sharing similar stories. Just wasn’t for me

The MC is a refugee from the Vietnam War, and the novel takes place in 1981, with flashbacks to her previous life in Vietnam with her family and her escape by boat. Strong war themes and post-traumatic stress symptoms.
