The hype on this book is almost overhyping it for me. But it is excellent and I see why everyone loves it. To me it feels like A Little Life meets Ready Player One. I couldn’t put it down and fell in love with all the characters. Which makes the terrible things that happen to them heart wrenching. The author is definitely my age and I loved all the references to our childhood like the Oregon trail! It’s a must read for sure.

I never expected to love a book about video games this much. The book is long and at times hard to get through but the characters really make up for it. Everyone is fully fleshed out and there are points where I love them and point when I hate them (except Marx he’s perfect). Even when I don’t like what a character is doing or what they’re feeling I still understand where they are coming from and why they would think that way. I loved looking at the artistic process through the lens of video games

Very John green-esque, reminded me also of ready player one (in the general vibe, not just the gaming aspect) very sad and tugs on your heart strings but didn’t do enough to make me cry, but the characters were very well rounded and I enjoyed it a lot.

Uniquely written. Unique plot. Unique characters. Ended my 11 year reading slump.
