I did take a little while to warm up to this book. Parts of it felt a little predictable and I almost rolled my eyes at the ‘lying about being in collage’ plot point. But as it progressed I did start to enjoy it more and I did like the core cast of the American characters.
It did however feel rushed in places, especially the ending (I would have liked an epilogue) and whilst I personally did prefer there not being too much focus on the breakup I could’ve just done with a little more rounding out of plot and character points before the ending.

I have to admit, I didn't actually read the whole book. I got about 1/3 in and then jumped to the last couple of chapters.
I absolutely adore some teen/ young adult novels even though I'm no longer in thay age range. But this was just unimpressive. Ellie was a stereotypical vapid, lazy and vain high schooler, more worried about flash than substance. There was barely an arc to her development. I just couldn't get into such a surface level storyline.

I couldn't stand the main character's attitude and sense of entitlement. Plus her love interest is completely atrocious.

I wasn’t the biggest fan since it felt highly unrealistic for the age group, and the protagonist was not a very likeable character. I wish it were set in a college instead, and I felt the MC was pretty immature and self-centered. The whole time I was against Will, but I also felt Dev was too good for Ellie. She treated him like shit and she acted selfishly the entire book.
