I wanted to badly to love this. But after we meet Tom Bombadill, I went right back to being bored and not caring. I feel like such an ass for loving the movies and not enjoying the books. 

I will say, I've listened to multiple audiobooks over the years of this book, and there are some truly gorgeous audio narrations of the series. But none were beautiful enough to make me interested in following along with a gang of hobbits going on a very long walk.
