The beginnig (or 3/4) was annoying, because the characters were awful. Really just like "why are you friends?!". The non-white characters felt like a add on, just something to say that she can write POC characters without really doing it.

This was a tender holiday romance / general fiction & I finished the audiobook within a few hours. I enjoyed the narration a lot!

I appreciated the commentary on classism & the differences between lived experiences of those who grew up with “working-class” parents and those who grew up in immense wealth and privilege. Though this story deals with some heavy content, I related to the messaging of choosing a life filled with genuine care, purpose, and joy.

This is probably my favorite JB novel!

I surprisingly really enjoyed this one! I’m not a big fan of cheesy holiday books, but I loved the wintery vibes and the descriptions of the castle and gardens. Like others have said, it was a bit long and the 3rd act break up really frustrated me, but overall I really enjoyed it. Excited to read more of Jenny Bayliss’ books!
