Possibly Condon's best book. He really understands the emotional awkwardness and desire for acceptance in suburban adolescence. Imagine if Adrian Mole had more heart and a better sense of self. That's Michael Sweeney but without the crutch of diary entries.

I can't recommend this highly enough. I've bough it for a number of adolescents in my life and they've all loved it too.

Buy it. Read it. Then buy it for other people.
