I grew to like this book but June was almost annoyingly shy at first that it was a hard read to get into. She definitely comes into her own but it is rough going at first. The quirky cast of characters surrounding her helps a lot!

this was wholesome read.
i liked how little library had such an influence on those people and how they all came together for the same goal.

i really liked followed the characters and their fight for saving the library

Books about books make my heart happy. June reminds me so such of Molly the Maid and Elenor Olephant. She was so meek and awkward throughout the story, but she was still likable. I enjoyed the small town feel and the communal fight for the library, even if it was a bit corny.

Marjorie’s character arc was strange - I found her unlikeable for most of the story. While she was able to redeem herself in the eyes of the characters, I still don’t really like her. I also don’t understand her family dynamic with her husband; did she just throw everything away based on this one situation?

Either way, this story was cozy and made me smile.

Excuse me while I sob in the corner. This book was so amazing. Definitely gave me "The Reading List" vibes. It was fluffier and more light hearted but that didn't stop Sampson from ripping my heart out at times. I would definitely read this again, just to re visit this world and the characters

The last 30% of the book should’ve happened way sooner, but a nice ending nonetheless

This is a good book. I enjoyed it. It’s what I would call “quiet fiction”. I don’t know if that’s a thing or not. It follows a bit of time in the quiet life of a woman and is centered around the library and the patrons who go there. It focuses on the value of libraries in communities. It’s really a love letter to libraries told through the life of a small village and an introverted gal.
