An interesting and brief essay by Howard Fast celebrating a General Strike that occurred in Franco's Spain in 1951. Fast was an acknowledged Communist, so some of the claims made here need to be taken with a grain of salt. But Fast makes a good point that even at this point early in the Cold War, the US was dirtying its hands supporting right wing and facist regimes and looking the other way on human rights issues as long as those regimes supported them against the USSR.
