This is probably the fastest I have read a book. I utterly loved it, and it’s my favorite Heartstopper volume so far. Can’t wait until next year with the final Volume 5. The ways that Oseman wasn’t afraid to address deep, personal issues is fantastic. I appreciated how she incorporated multiple diagnoses into Charlie’s experience with mental health. You don’t read about many positive stories from mental health hospital stays, and I’m glad Oseman was able to deliver one. I also appreciate how she has shown multiple reactions to coming outs - the drastic reactions in fiction are frequently not any of our experiences. All props to Oseman, they definitely hit this one on the nail and was a perfect blend of emotion and hard times, and happiness and silver linings.

This issue is really intense, but it is still really heartwarming.

I thought Volume 3 of Heartstopper was my favorite, until I read this one. Volume 4 follows Nick and Charlie as they are fully "in" their relationship. They are out at school and are now dealing with other issues in life, specifically Nick coming out to his dad and Charlie battling an eating disorder. There is also the big first "I love you" hanging over their heads; both boys know they want to say it but they are scared to say it first.

The way that Oseman doesn't shy away from the hard topics of mental health and other things that teenagers go through on a daily basis is refreshing. More teens need to have access to this type of content, and more authors need to be writing about it so it is more accessible. Make sure you check content warnings before reading this one, but if you can handle the content, READ IT.

Additionally, how can you not love Nick and Charlie? I mean, come on! They're so dang cute. I am so excited for Volume 5, although sad it will be the last.

I think of all 4 books this has been my favorite. I loved that the story focused on so many different things and truly showed how a relationship and mental illness can coexist. I loved that we also got to see so many little tidbits of the other characters and their relationships as well!

Probablemente el mejor de los tomos/mejores capitulos al momento. La profundidad que estos sucesos le dieron a ambos personajes, a la historia, y lo excelente que fueron tratados me emociona mucho.
