You know I love my precious teenage fluff bois in all their heartstopping glory. I was nervous about what this issue would mean, considering how heavily Vol. 3 hinted at Charlie's eating disorder/disordered eating. I've been in eating disorder recovery myself, and it's a little like staring into a mirror when you're confronted with something so important and personal on the page.
⠀⠀
This volume was truly the best by far. Not only does it approach triggering topics with great care, no surprise considering Alice Oseman is one of the best young adult writers I've ever read, but it also sets a tone for honoring that there are some problems we have to ask for help with. It teaches us important lessons about honoring our boundaries and our limits. And Tori Spring is the badass queen we all deserve fighting in our corner.
⠀
This installment of the series is so beautiful and heartwarming. The Paris Squad is back together again, and each of these characters teaches us crucial lessons about navigating life in tumultuous times. I recommend this series to everyone, literally everyone. The television show can't come soon enough.
