Fun, easy, and tbh basic read for a Saturday morning. One of the worst and most predictable plot twists I’ve seen for a while though. Don’t fully understand the hype around this series? Maybe I’m just too old for it 🤷♀️.
I thought this book was a great piece of writing. I gave it five stars not only because it was a great read with an amazing plot, but because it held so much potential! Perhaps I should have given it four stars, because the story really ends after the first book (forget this is a series folks, there is a solid conclusion at the end of book one). However, I could not help giving this five stars because every time I opened the book, I was swept away in the plot. I was constantly thinking about what could happen next and it kept my mind alive and enthralled! After all, is that not what a book is supposed to do? I say give this book a read. Adult or teen, there is a good chance you will find the story very captivating.
I started and finished this book in 2 days and I really loved it! It took me for a ride and had lots of plot twists that I never would have seen coming.
Sage is an orphan. He has no family and nothing to look forward to when he gets back to the orphanage. But when he's caught by a noble when stealing a roast, he's whisked away into a world of lies, deception, and masks. You can't trust anyone and no one is what they seem. Sage must find a way to stay alive and still convince Connor that he is a prince. But when everyone around him is a lie, how can they be sure he isn't one too?
That was a little bit of a spoiler, but it was an amazing book. It was an amazing story of a boy becoming a king with just his wits, and some history too. ;)

It was cool I loved the ending I was expecting it in the beginning the when I reading it I didn't think so as much and then it was actually the outcome I though it was.
A book entirely wrapped in mysteries. In fact, I really enjoyed the main character here, since he's different from others, and he hides secrets from himself.
Predictable, but I can think of several students who would enjoy it.

I've had this series reserved for a while but kept pushing it back for ages. I think I initially marked it while looking for series that would give me the same vibe as Ranger's Apprentice.
I think this has the potential of being my favorite series of all time. It's like a mix of Ranger's Apprentice (or Royal Ranger I suppose would be more accurate) and Classroom of the Elite (he's like Ayanokoji if he wasn't a sociopath).
I think I get the next two books in the series tomorrow. I'll read them while playing pool? About the novel itself, I could see the end coming but didn't know how it would come. I'm very satisfied with the novel. It was interesting from start to finish (which is not something that can be said for most novels).
I'm both pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised by his companions at the end. I'm also uninterested in a love triangle, especially not including a girl in love with his dead brother... I'm happy about the short story included at the end.
