Intro felt odd at face value, possibly because of the adult writing style that was trying to capture a teen perspective, but I enjoyed how they explored childhood changes into adulthood when they meet again

this is very much all over the place for me. i didn't care a lot about the beggining, the story of how the heroine and the love interest met when they were teenagers; they were cute and grew on me, but it took a while to get into. then there's the shift to present day and suddenly the hollywood aspect comes into play, and i really like that. it's time to finally fully admit to myself that i actually love a good hollywood/fame romance! anyway i was very into the story but then the final two chapters happened and they're really all over the place? so the ending was quite the letdown for me with the way things happened to be resolved afterwards.
Overall an enjoyable read. I hope I am correct in thinking that this is a loose retelling of A Room With A View - especially the beginning of the book. I liked Tate as a main character but I didn't care for the love interest whatsoever. I think I would have liked this book more if the first half of the book had been a smaller setup to the second half, and the second half had gotten rid of the romance and had focused on Tate's relationship with her father because that is definitely what I found most interesting about this book. If you're a fan of Christina Lauren I think you will enjoy this, especially if you're a fan of romance.

Just don’t do the audio and you might enjoy this more. The narrotorrrr ends a lot of her sentences like a really baaaaad news anchorrrrr. Also every male character sounds exactly the same. I had to listen on 1.5 speed to get past the extra long ending of her words. It was like she was adding extra syllables.

This story felt super rushed.I wanted Tate to confront her dad. I wanted to see Sam and Tate go to the media about their relationship. The ending was super cringey and I felt like the story had really just gotten started when it ended.
