The book was a really good read. I thought the book was cliche at first but then I came to enjoy the chemistry between Gabe and Mady! I loved the book and it wasn't as cliche and cheesy than I thought it would be back. Good job on the author for a good book especially since its her debut novel.
emotional slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I've already finished the book, and I must say, this is a sweet read. I won't give it four stars though, because there were some confusing scenes and the progress was fast then slow then fast then blah blah blah. Also, since it was about figure skating, I expected competitive performance scenes, but sadly Maddy and Gabe's performance during competitions weren't fully described and it was unsatisfying.

However, the story was sweet, and the writing was smooth, so I enjoyed the book and the ending left me content. What bothered me was how Van Ark ended her book JUST LIKE THAT, w/o telling us how it went for the secondary characters Kate and Chris. I wanted to know how they deal with the problems they were having and how they were going to continue their dangerous skating career, or even do something about their partnership/relationship. But then, no.

Very romantic. A great winter/Christmas read.

I liked this book. Wasnt a favorite. I like fast paces but this was a little TOO fast. It didnt really have a climax or a build. The ending was cute but WOW so short lived. It was just kinda... Over. I loved Gabe's character but she didnt trust him as much as she should. I know he was a player but she could have put a little faith. She was a tad whinny. Gabe was my favorite character though. For sure. His parts were way better at explaining him than her thoughts. I'm glad it went back and forth or else i would'nt have liked the male lead as much. I would have liked to read more about thier big competition than a short epilogue. wasn't that the point of the book besides their mixed signals? And it seemed like friends were pieces of crap... They needed someone and the "friends" weren't there but Maddy and Gabe were there when the friends needed them.. Annoying!
I think Gabe was the only thing i liked about this book! Haha it had plenty of humor and nail biting adrenaline pieces for sure with the skating!!! He was so cute!

2.5 Stars: I expected to love this book. I picked it up in the mood for a cute, cheesy romance and with a love of skating after figure skating for years. With that said, this book was a little painful to get through. The issues between the two main characters were caddy and unimportant most of the time, the "plot twists" were insanely predictable, and the forced-in skating puns/references/analogies in every other sentence were painful. With that said, I did give it 2.5 stars because the idea of a romance between skating partners carried me through the book much more than the actual writing and story within this book.

Cute u even if it annoyed me at times. Review to come.

Didn't like this book nearly as much as I thought I would. The characters weren't likeable and it was a little too graphic for my taste in YA.
