I bought the book based on the blurb, thinking it was going to be about a young woman infiltrating a sex society for some bigger purpose. The "society" only appears at the end and is never really explored, the relationship between Catherine and Jack seems unhealthy and the side characters of Bundy and Anna are left underdeveloped. The end of the book is unsatisfying on many levels, to top it off, and the only thing really explored is Catherine's increasingly elaborate sexual fantasies. Sasha Grey has the potential to be a great writer, and if she's given the chance her next book can prove that, if she's given a firmer guiding hand in plot development. Characters can't make a book or film enjoyable if there's not enough plot for them to exist within.

"I'm marinating in my own juices and my ass is ready to be cooked, but I come multiple times before he's ready to leave his yeast in my oven. And as I come, my asshole puckers and snorts a pinch of chili."

Better than 50 Shades, but not much. I like Sasha Grey, and I really wanted to like this book, but the narrative tries to be twisted, but ends up only confusing.

Sasha Grey sabe escribir.

This book is pretty great, as a collection of erotic fantasy. However, the plot was slow to begin, with too much time spent in the protagonist's mind (half the book).

The consent situation is pretty nonexistent, though there are a few nods when a character really doesn't want something, so I guess that's better than nothing? Just a heads up so that readers avoid this book is that's a trigger.

I also really dislike the boyfriend, Jack. I don't understand the ending, why she sticks through all that. Take them down and lead a better life! There's not much change in the characters from the start of the book to the end. Yes, Anna has probably had more experience (unless all this was in her head), but she doesn't believably change much. That's not very satisfying.

I didn't expect much, and the writing was pretty entertaining during scenes, so that's a plus! Read this ad a quick read, and don't expect too much, and it might be enjoyable.
