Pretty Girl Thirteen is one of those books that change lives. At least, it has definitely made an impact on mine. It was difficult to read due to the subject matter, but it was also very hard to put down. I was engrossed in Angie's story, and I wanted to see how she turned out at the end.

A little bit of a disappointment because pretty much everything in here was so predictable... I could guess Angie had DID (I don't even bother with spoilers alert because it is THAT obvious) by page 5. I'm not even sure it was meant to be a "surprise" when it's revealed to the reader.

And the one twist I hadn't seen coming, the one at the end, was so unplausible it nearly made me laugh.

Yet I kept reading, mostly because I liked Angie as a character, I liked most characters, they're very well defined and they feel real (so much more than the plot). I enjoyed this story but it could have been so much better.
