OHMY I loved this book so much, the magical story and retelling of The Nutcracker's tale. And while I love reading retellings, some tends to get very boring and unusually irrelevant, this book definitely came as a surprise and I really enjoyed this book. I've to say I was really in it for The Nutcracker all through the story.

A rating based on my enjoyment and the lovely writing, I don't know much about music composition but Dixo sure made me feel it.

Pretty good retelling of a very nostalgic Christmas story.

I would marry the Nutcracker….
In this version or the Barbie one I’m not picky but I’m leaning towards this one

I absolutely loved it. Few small pickings I could give but I don’t care to. I just thoroughly enjoyed it ❤️

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

It is not often that I wish to see a book turned into a movie (why ruin a perfectly good book?) but this a book that more than deserves to dance the silver screen with all of the beautiful (and, in some instances, terrifying) imagery that Mrs. Wallwork paints within these pages.

This is retelling of the Christmas classic, The Nutcracker, with a smidge of Pied Piper added in. Clara is a pianist, like her late father, and thrilled to finally perform in the annual Christmas Concert... and impress Johan, the pianist she has admired for years. All of her carefully arranged music and plans change when a mysterious package is found underneath the Christmas tree: a Nutcracker with a book: Clara and the Nutcracker Prince. Clara is swept away into a fantasy land where rats are the size of wolves and (somewhat useless) fairies, and Nutcracker is determined to save his people and prove himself worthy of being Emperor.

There are militant nuns (who may or may not engage in somewhat illegal activity), a candy shop that becomes the center of a military operation, and an abundance of characters you can't help but fall in love with and root for.

A very nice Christmas read, enjoyed with apple cider and gingerbread, or anytime of year with a copious amount of chocolate.

✨✨Here comes my most favorite book of the year and one of my all time favs✨✨

I honestly don’t know what makes music magic, but what makes this book magic is surely the writing and everything else that’s in it. Music as a main theme and the vivid description of it, the heartwarming plot, the charming characters, the handsome (and twisted) villain, the historical setting of Germany and fictional Russia, and most importantly, the Phantom of the Opera reference! Honestly, it’s literally a combination of everything i like. I haven’t felt this way when reading for a while, heart fluttering and literally smiling. This book didn’t make me question my entire existence nor challenge my thoughts. All it did was just captivate and comfort me with its wonderful prose and magical story. It’s like a cozy bed in a peppermint scented room on a snowy day. It’s a book i knew i would love even from the first page and a book that made me forget i was reading. It’s utterly magic, truly an enchanted sonata composed of words instead of notes.

A mesmerizing retelling of the Nutcracker. I stayed up all night to finish it. Beautifully written and told, it's one of the best fairytale retellings I've read recently.
