I give it a four mostly due to if you removed the smut, the story would stand on its own.
Not a fan of the "trope" in the book though. I will leave it at to that not to give anything away. Just prepare yourself as it will be triggering and uncomfortable. But just because it is uncomfortable does not mean it is not a story worth telling. Just would not want it to be glorified.

DNF the plot was too slow, and the writing was horrible at showing Addy's feelings not only that she was annoying. Although, I absolutely loved the plot and ZADE! I just think the book could have been written faster and perhaps even joined with the 2nd book into one. Maybe then it would be more tolerable but the plot and Zade is what had me hooked enough to try and finish the book. Regardless, I will not be reading the 2nd book.

This was a very intense book with a few very traumatizing scenes. Definitely not for your average reader and I’m pretty sure I need therapy now. Read TW before going into this.
