A seasonal read.

This is a 2.5 read really, but it's given a boost by being one of those reads, that are best read during Christmas...magic just fits better now. As far as the story and characters go, it's the run of the mill friendship with romantic hints, but always happening at the wrong moment.

I'm not a fan of how the love interest treated the person he was with - even if she was not on the up and up.

* A lucky fish am I, I got given a copy of this read.*

While I really enjoyed the narrator of the audio book the story itself was just.... more of it annoyed me then I could find to like. Good thing it was short. But I would definitely listen to narrator again.

FIVE STARS
In Holly Tierney-Bedord's book Right Under Your Nose we find best friends who are trying to deal with life and all it has to throw at them.
Ariadne and Jess have been the best of friends for longer than they can remember. Their mothers were college roommates and have stayed close and the two families share holidays and all special events together. One without the other just wouldnt be real.
Ariadne just caught her long time boyfriend Scott cheating on her and she was blind-sided as well as devistated. Jess is there to help her sort things out, yet Jess is also trying to find time to spend with his new girl friend Laurel. No one has met Laurel yet but that is about to change as Jess has just told Ariadne that he is bringing Laurel to the "families" Thanksgiving Dinner.
Ariadne was out taking a walk one evening to try to get her head on straight and she was full of questions and doubts about life and her home and job and everything when she found a bookstore that looked like it had been there forever but she has known this neighborhood for years and has never seen it before. "Right Under Your Nose" was the sign hanging in front of the door.
This story is about discovery. Discovering who you are, who you are supposed to be with and the likes.
Ariadne was lost after she and Scott split up but she finds her way back to being able to love and when she realizes it was always "right under her nose" she is shocked to learn that she has all these hidden feelings as well.
A quick easy read. Pulls you in and makes you feel like you are watching it all unfold.

Right Under Your Nose by Holly Tierney-Bedord Rated 3 stars

This book is a cute Christmas novella. Ariadne has everything she wants: a great job, a new Victorian house and a awesome boyfriend, Scott. Everything seems to be going her way. One afternoon she decides to stop by and surprise Scott with a cake she made. Let's just say the surprise was on her as she walked into their bedroom and saw Scott with another female. After moving all her stuff out she is in a slump and decides she didn't want to deal with Christmas this year. Her mother keeps trying to get her to change her mind. Her best friend, Jess, doesn't understand why she won't come to their house for the holiday. He wants her to meet his new girlfriend. He decides to bring her to Thanksgiving to meet everyone since Ariadne hasn't boycotted this holiday yet . Once his girlfriend is brought into the picture things start to get a little crazy.
I am guessing this is an ongoing story because I was confused on some of the actions between some of the characters. The family scenes were great and I liked the Thanksgiving dinner where everyone said what they were thankful for. Jess has a girlfriend, Laurel, to introduce to everyone and she brought chaos to Ariadne’s life and threw her into a “suspicious” mode. Laurel was kind of evil but added to this magical Christmas story. Speaking of magical I enjoyed side story of the bookstore owners

Right Under Your Nose is a novella by Holly Tierney-Bedord. It is a paranormal/contemporary holiday romance- full of mystery and a little drama.
Ariadne Daniels is a 26year old successful pastry chef, who has a lovely Victorian home in a popular neighbourhood. She and her boyfriend Scott have been together for years, and life seems pretty good for them.
Things become all unraveled when Ariadne catches Scott cheating on her and they break up. She becomes depressed and can’t stand the thought of having to face Christmas, something she normally loves- so she decides that she will just skip it this year. Her family and friends don’t understand, because they don’t know what happened with Scott!

“I hope you haven’t got me a present yet, because I’m not celebrating Christmas this year.”
“You’re kidding.”
“No,’ said Ariadne. “I’m one hundred percent serious.”
“You’re not exchanging gifts, or you’re not celebrating it at all?” asked Jess.
“I’m not celebrating it at all. No tree, no stockings, no gifts, no Christmas cookies. And definitely no carolling!”

Her troubles seem to worsen, when Jess introduces his new girlfriend. Ariadne can’t explain it, but something isn’t right.
The appearance of a quirky little bookstore and its friendly- if not a little eccentric, owner; brings a little mystery and magic into her life.
Some things are not quite what they appear to be- and especially when a sly schemer is at work. Will Ariadne be able to expose them for who they truly are? What is it about the mysterious bookstore and its owner that surprises Ariadne? What does the future hold for her? Will she realise that what she needs was right under her nose the whole time?
This is a perfect, short Christmas story packed with fun, magic and a heap of charm.
Ms. Tierney-Bedord has her own unique style and always delivers an entertaining and original story. This book is well written and quite detailed for such a quick read.
There were a few sad moments through the book, but it also had me laughing at other times.
The story is fast paced and flows smoothly, although I did feel as if the ending may have been a little rushed.
The characters were all well thought out and fully developed. The story is a standalone and ends with a HEA.
So allow yourself an hour or two, curl up with a hot chocolate or a glass of wine and dive into this heart-warming read. Just like me, you’ll be happy you did.

Thank you Ms. Tierney-Bedord!
