”The good ones put your character to the flame and burn away all the rest of the shit until you come out a better you.”

I HATE CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE which is why this was a huge shocker for me, I went blindly into this book expecting it to be cliche and sappy and it was, but I don’t care, coz it was the good kind of cliche and sappy. You get it? No, okay.
This novel is basically about an ordinary girl who was hired to be the fake girlfriend of a popular singer and both of them ended up falling madly in love together. (Yeah, so unique right? *insert sarcasm here*) but the story itself doesn’t sound as bad as I put it into words.

There are a lot of elements in this book that I just couldn’t articulate, I do admit that there are some cringe worthy moments but I am willing to overlook those rare occassions.
I love both Oakley and Vaughn and I do understand that a lot of readers who had the opportunity to read this book brought out the inner fangirl in all of us. Don’t tell me that you never obsessed over a celebrity and dreamed of him to become your boyfriend *ehem… Zac Efron* coz I did, I remember fangirling over Zac when I was a kid because High School Musical was such a huge hit that time. My mom even went as far as making me a customized school bag with my face and Zac Efron’s on it. HAHAHAHA creepy, right?
This book just reminded me of all those insane fangirl moments and those times I spent inside my room wondering what it feels like to become a celebrity girlfriend and it feels nice to make it come true even by just reading a story partially similar to it.

Maybe I’m a little biased but who the fuck cares? I love this book!! 5 BLAZING STARS

Große Empfehlung an alle.

It could have been a whole lot better. It definitely felt like it was written by two different people who couldn't decide who their audience was. Some of it felt really overdone, the plot moved too fast, and I wasn't keen on the quick wrap up. It was fine. A good, quick read, but could have been great.

eeeee so cute !!! this book gave me the ultimate vibes of watching one of those 2000s romcoms with the pop star and “normal girl” and I ate it upppp. It all explained when I found out this book was written years ago but this was such a fun read
