I took to knitting this year, with the intention to start knitting garments from the mid 20th century, and this book is an amazing companion!
Everything is explained really nicely, the history of knitting, what basics you need to get and some tips on wool. Yes, it's dated, obviously, but that makes it so amazing for me, as it follows along to my vintage patterns.

It has some beautiful pictures in it as well, quite a lot really, which I didn't expect, so that's a nice bonus! I haven't tried any of the patterns (yet) but it certainly a book that I'm glad to add to my collection!
