Weaver really delivered with this one. I barely even have words for how magnificent it was.

I listened to the audio on hoopla and also read a few chapters. The audio is fabulous and really brings the story to life. My husband even enjoyed it on a long drive. We both agreed that these books would make an amazing film or series. I could picture it as we listened.

I found myself laughing, smiling, and questioning the characters aloud (I’m sure my husband loved my commentary.) I repeatedly was wrong about what would happen next and who did what. The historical setting, intriguing characters, romance, and mystery went together perfectly and made a great overall story.

If you’re hesitating on this third installment—don’t.

I love this series, but I don’t like the cliffhangers. The will they/won’t they between Ellie and the Major is getting a bit grating. It is the same as the first book. I like when books move forward and some is doing that like the mystery of Ellie’s mom, little as it was, it was moving forward, but the relationship is exactly as it was at the start and I’m starting to get pulled to other series which is a shame because the writing and the twists are normally pretty good.
