Very satisfying finale. I will forever think about this book/series whenever I hear Sweet But Psycho play.
I love that we finally saw what Damien is truly capable of- what he can do when he's all serious and on a mission as opposed to his usual mischievous self.
The bickering between the four is still my favorite part because they really do sound like teenage boys in competition.
The suspense when the war with Idun started almost killed me and I loved how that b*tch was defeated. I loved the surprises about those people who turned during the battle especially that one in front of Sanctuary (did not see that coming).
The missing star is for the big reveal about Violet's monster. It was too dragged out for me and totally confusing because it was done in chunks through different POVs.
Overall, this series has been awesome. I loved that the difference in the harem's personalities really showed and remained consistent throughout the series. I've read several other RH series before rereading this and I haven't found anything that's comparable aside from the other RH series by Kristy Cunning (The Dark Side). I just know I will reread this again in the future.

This was a bit of a disappointing conclusion to the series, which was such a shame after how consistent the rest of the books were.
The resolution to the Idun drama felt pretty anticlimactic. After demonstrating how powerful Idun is, the fact that Violet's monster is able to simply terrify her into submission seems a bit unbelievable. I think it was meant to demonstrate how powerful Violet's monster is, but it felt like we were being told that rather than having it proven. Like all we really see Anna do is kick Idun's head around and put it in an oven? I guess you could argue that Idun's never been truly challenged before so it's simply the idea of someone being more powerful than her that terrifies her, but it's pretty weak and made for a lacklustre ending. It also felt like it made a mockery of Idun's character and was just a weird vibe to end that storyline with.
After obsessively reading these books in any spare moment I could get and taking 2-3 days to read each of the first 5 books, it took me two weeks to read the last 20% of this book. I had been excited for this book to be around double the length of the others, but that last section lost my attention completely. All of the action and tension had been resolved and I guess I didn't care enough about the relationships to need to experience them doing their HEA thing. I don't mind that in an epilogue but not when it takes up a fifth of the book.
Before all of that, I was quite enjoying the book, just a shame the ending was weak.

This is the highest rating that exist in the book community and this book… this series deserves it with a standing ovation. I am shook and happy and wtf was this absolute thrill of a rollercoaster. It’s kind up unhinged how literally half of the book was the war and just the guys figuring out who Violet is and who her monster is. I absolutely laughed when her monster apparitions were doing all sorts bloody not-acceptable-in-real-life things.
I will say after I finished it, I looked up the author cause I knew she had other pen names but then came into the news that she died bc either her husband shot her or there was a car accident and I was just so sad for the very same reasons that one Reddit post said like not said bc no other book (the series was completed long before she died) but because she had so many stories to bring to the world and sprinkle us with her brilliance. And I was so sad that someone who made me feel all these different types of emotions while reading this series is gone and I couldn’t get to appreciate her sooner.
