It's a teen read. Flat characters. Lots of telling instead of showing. Very predictable outcomes.

Cute. Would not read again.

Wouldn't have read in the first place if not for my book club.

Magic, suspense, true love, and BA women who are in charge of saving and defending their Island world, that’s this book in a conk shell. (Sorry... I get punny after 10pm.) Really, though. There is something so very empowering about strong female characters who struggle with as much self doubt, fear and inner turmoil as we real women on the humble planet earth. This book made me feel as though I was right there with these spirit sisters, conquering and slaying personal terrors.

Wow! I have not read the Renthia books before this but I may have to! This was a wonderful story that really had you rooting for the characters and just being able to visualize the lands and sea. I loved the story and felt drawn to keep reading to follow these characters!

I was SO happy when I heard I could come visit the islands of Belene. After reading the Renthia series and being quite sad when it was over, all I wanted was more! The islands of Belene are beautifully described. I hope we hear more about them!
