These books truly have it all. The dialogue with certain characters makes me giddy. The spicy scenes usually have my jaw on the floor. And there's some action in these that is unexpected and a little horrifying; but really adds to the danger you feel when dealing with certain characters. I'm very excited to continue this series

If I were subtitling this book it would be: Merry spends the better part of 48 hours covered in blood. Definitely the least sexy and most violent of the books so far, with some moments of extremely domestic arguing in between all of the craziness. Very into how the relationships between the different members of the boyfriend squad continue to develop and I also can’t wait to see how much more overpowered Merry is going to get. Good for her!

Now, a great plot with a few sexy moments in it can create a classic, but when you completely dispose of the plot in favour of sexy moments it's leading nowhere but to disaster.

3.5

I have a relationship with these books like I have with Marmite, I am not entirely sure if I like them, they are getting better but.....

Ok what I love the characters are amazing with so many different sides, also considering there is a fair few the author lets you get to know each and everyone and writes them beautifully, I also have to point out that Merry Gentry and Anita Blake are some of the best female characters I have read, both by this Author.

the descriptions of places people interactions and responses are so beautiful and believable.

When we do get the magic I love it!

What I didn't love... The barely there plot, this book is not by any means a quickie but all that happened is, Merry again mirror talks with Goblin king, frets about upcoming visit to the seelie court, has sex and visits her aunt where she and her aunt are both nearly assassinated. The rest of the book is filled with a lot of ways to try and lie without actually lying and strike deals.... I was so confused buy the end of what member of the court has taken what bodily fluid from what sidhe and who owes what?

Also I don't like how the sex feels mechanical and is later dissected and pulled apart and discussed.....

I will carry on as the parts I liked I loved...

Like I said, this is a marmite book...... I keep eating out of pure curiosity too see if i actually like it or not....

The third book intensifies both the political and romantic elements of the series. Meredith faces challenges that test her alliances and loyalties, and Hamilton's ability to merge supernatural elements with character dynamics continues to shine.

Saudades, eu tinha verdadeiramente saudades desta história.

After I took the recommendation of my little sister and tore through the Anita Blake books available and headed to the Library and grabbed the Merry Gentry books as well ...  I grabbed the first few books, hoping I would like them like I did with the Anita books.  Not really a Surprise; I LOVED THEM!  I tore through them in a few weeks and then read them as they became available until I finished them ALL!

Grab them they are great!

Genuinely loving the progression of the story. For a book where the main characters entire purpose is to be have sex-a lot more happens. Something is always going on in faerie. I love how Kitto has become more involved. His and Rhys’ relationship to one another is a great storyline. The powers are starting to amp up in this book& only get crazier as it goes.
