This was really lovely - I can see why it won so many awards. Great characters and interesting plot lines. I love that this book aimed at teens had so much in it about parenting, making me think about my own parenting style and choices.

Oh MY GOODNESS! This book was amazing and I fell in love with the characters. They were relatable, charismatic, adorable, and just beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone who loves LGBTQ+ stories, coming-of-age fiction, '80s stories, and teenager of color stories.

This is the first book I had to read in school that I genuinely enjoyed. I think, if I hadn't had to read it so spaced out over time, I could hav easily read it in an afternoon. At first I felt like the writing was a bit boring because of it's simplicity, but over time, that simplicity made it feel more intense. I also loved being able to actively discuss the book with other people while reading it.

He wasn’t afraid anymore!!!

I basically read this whole thing in one sitting and I loved every second. What a beautiful story full of living, laughing, and loving.
