A solid ending to what has become my favourite of Catherine Cowles’ series (although I think Fractured sky is still my favourite book of hers overall)

What I especially love:
✅ The Slow burn romance between Lawson and Hallie

✅ Lawson’s boys and their relationship with Hallie

✅ The Single dad/Nanny trope in general. Done perfectly here (bonus for there being an age gap)

It also confirmed something I had been wondering since the last book

I will really miss these characters and look forward to the next series (very excited about the next main character)

Ashes of You is the final installment of Lost and Found series and boy was it a doozy! The series focuses on each sibling of the Hartley siblings and it’s finally the oldest brother, Lawson’s story to be told.

Lawson is Cedar Ridge’s chief of police. He’s the single dad of three fast growing boys and is looking for a nanny. In enters Hallie Aster, who happens to be the young woman he saved from a psychopath serial killer four years prior. Hallie has never forgotten those blue eyes who rescued her. Because of Hallie’s thoughtfulness and care, she’s hired and she begins to work her way into all of the Lawson’s boys’ hearts, all the while healing her own. But all of a sudden, there are women that are going missing or are found dead again; showing signs that the monster who took and scarred Hallie years ago, is back.

Gah! There were so many things I loved about this story. Hallie was just awesome. It was so heartwarming that Hallie's caring and tenderness helped repair Lawson and his oldest son’s relationship. I really loved that Lawson needed a bit of healing himself and that Hallie was able to provide the care that he needs. Lawson’s three sons were such sweethearts and I thought Hallie did such a good job in melting with their family unit and bringing out the best in each of them.

Trying to find out who the killer was had me second guessing every possible single man that Hallie came across in the story. But I was proud I figured out who the killer was prior to it being revealed. Basically, this book is certainly entertaining and had me gasping with some of the twists it delivered.

The narration by Ava Erickson and Sebastian York was superb by keeping me on the edge of my seat and making Hallie and Lawson come alive.

Thank you to the author for the alc and e-arc. Thoughts expressed in this review are my own.

Hands down my favorite of the series! Catherine didn’t hold anything back either this book; she gave it all and delivered! I went through so many emotions with this book. I cried way too much! Hallie is so precious. Lawson is so compassionate and caring. The kids have my whole heart with all their antics and how much they accept and love Hallie. Every single detail about this book was perfect!

– single dad x nanny
– age gap
– forced proximity
– slow burn
– small town
– found family
– touch her and 💀

All of the stars!!!! Full RTC.
