The “surprise I’m pregnant!” epilogue in 3 of the 5 books was lazy and annoying

This was the first book I read by this author and I absolutely adored it!

A romantic suspense featuring a FMC who was kidnapped 5 years ago and rescued by a police officer she deems "Blue". In a turn of events she ends up nannying for "blue" and his 3 boys.

Tropes featured:
-single dad/nanny
-overprotective MMC
-forced proximity
-suspense
-slow burn
-age gap

TW: violence, PTSD, kidnapping, mentions of rape, sexual harassment/assault

I'd highly recommend this book!

What a beautiful ending to this beautiful series 😭 I've been waiting for Law's story since book 1 and this delivered!

Law and Hallie are so so perfect and I'm so happy they found eachother. They were both so sweet with the boys too 🥹 Big probs to Cowles for not only writing >10 y/os but teenagers and also writing them well, as a bigger sister to a 17 y/o boy, I can confirm the accuracy.

I found this series at a very dark and weird place in my life (in the hospital xoxo) and while things aren't perfect now, they're better and I'm so glad these books were there for me during it. The Hartleys definitely found their way into my heart ❤

P.S.: I feel like I can't really rate this book lower because of it (bc every romance has it) but jfc, does EVERY couple in EVERY romance have to end up w kids 🙃

“It’s you, Blue. You’re the one who bought me out of the ashes. It’s always been you.”

This follows Hallie 25 who went through a horrific situation five years ago and ever since then has dealt with a lot of trauma and trying to heal. But everything changes when she moves to a small town and nanny’s for a police chief named Lawson who is 38 and his three boys between the ages of 6 and 16.

Please be mindful of the contents and themes. I have listed them below. I will say this book is one of my favourites in the series. I appreciate the plot twist of who was responsible for all the harm. I loved the Single dad and his son’s element. Love Charlie and Luke. I loved how we got to see Luke grow in this book and also have a protective side. Don’t get me wrong I like Drew but if I hear Bruh one more time I’ll lose my mind which leads me to find his character was a little repetitive. Like I've said previously if I were a woman in this small town I would leave immediately as you're a target.

I will say the audiobook was brilliant with Ava and Sebastian work well together. Highly recommend the audiobook.

Ashes of You is the final installment of Lost and Found series and boy was it a doozy! The series focuses on each sibling of the Hartley siblings and it’s finally the oldest brother, Lawson’s story to be told.

Lawson is Cedar Ridge’s chief of police. He’s the single dad of three fast growing boys and is looking for a nanny. In enters Hallie Aster, who happens to be the young woman he saved from a psychopath serial killer four years prior. Hallie has never forgotten those blue eyes who rescued her. Because of Hallie’s thoughtfulness and care, she’s hired and she begins to work her way into all of the Lawson’s boys’ hearts, all the while healing her own. But all of a sudden, there are women that are going missing or are found dead again; showing signs that the monster who took and scarred Hallie years ago, is back.

Gah! There were so many things I loved about this story. Hallie was just awesome. It was so heartwarming that Hallie's caring and tenderness helped repair Lawson and his oldest son’s relationship. I really loved that Lawson needed a bit of healing himself and that Hallie was able to provide the care that he needs. Lawson’s three sons were such sweethearts and I thought Hallie did such a good job in melting with their family unit and bringing out the best in each of them.

Trying to find out who the killer was had me second guessing every possible single man that Hallie came across in the story. But I was proud I figured out who the killer was prior to it being revealed. Basically, this book is certainly entertaining and had me gasping with some of the twists it delivered.

The narration by Ava Erickson and Sebastian York was superb by keeping me on the edge of my seat and making Hallie and Lawson come alive.

Thank you to the author for the alc and e-arc. Thoughts expressed in this review are my own.
