that cliffhanger

As usual the sisters have done it again. Amazing story, plenty of steam, all the angst, and obviously a cliffhanger. This was everything and then some all packed in a fantastic book

Fucking Shawn.

I enjoyed this one a lot but I'll confess it's starting to feel a bit repetitive. I can't see how it's going to stretch out for 2 more books. This book focused a lot on Chase which was really great as he's such an underutilized character in the first two books. I am hoping to see more about Fox but he is starting to annoy me and hope he gets gets some character growth soon. Overall this is an easy to read, fun RH series which has some darker elements (TW: torture).

I don't want to do spoilers but I just want to say communication is key. Cliffhanger at end is just expected at this stage.

This was a low point for this series. Our character make a couple of incredibly stupid decisions which real people really wouldn't have made. They knew who Shawn was working with and should have known where he was, but they still waltzed straight in there without doing any recon.

Also, the dynamite scene at the end was completely ridiculous. That's not how dynamite works. You can't just put a stick on the ground in front of a door to blow it open. Well, maybe a bedroom door, but nothing built to keep people out. You need to put the dynamite in a hole in the door or a gap between the door and the surrounding wall or something, or the force of the explosion will just go outwards, away from the door, leaving the door singed at worst. I know this is a tiny detail, but it's such an important scene narratively that this sloppy of an execution still pisses me off.
