I am trying to be better about actively not reviewing St. Martin’s Press titles. I will adjust this and post a review once the boycott is lifted.

Really nice! Read in two days, fast paced and fun! I liked the slow burn of Fable and West. I could tell he had a thing for her early on but the conflict in him was believable to keep him from her until the end. Their tension was great. The plot was engaging and I found myself really rooting for Fable! She wasn't stupid even if she was a little hasty with some attitude. Good book 👍 jumping into book two right away cause I did not see the last chapter coming!

Subtracting a star for the absolutely needless cliffhanger. Moving the last 1.5/2 chapters to the sequel would have provided a nice clean conclusion, while the sense of impending adventure would definitely have been enough to leave me wanting more.

Instead of leaving me with the beautiful moment in the tavern (yes, I cried too), I'm now very grumpily picking up the sequel. Ugh.
