Beautiful. It's a retcon dream, fitting well with the previous books and reconciling with the characters we already know.  There's so many little Easter eggs I'm sure there will be more on re- read.  It also makes me want to re- read the other books to experience them in light of this new content.  It's such a a touching story in itself and Collins has still got that sad, heart wrenching magic.

Cannot put into words how heart-wrenching Haymitch's story is.

Suzanne you have done it again.
Drawing me into a dark book that I know is going to make me cry that still surprised me. It puts other books foreshadowing to shame cause I never see the next chapter coming.

Also the variety of strong woman you put into a book, Wiress, Mags, Lenore, Louella, Lou Lou, Maybeline, while the main POV being from a man is indescribable!

I think I’d be content if this was the end of Hunger Games novels but wouldn’t be upset with anymore.

I used to really enjoy the hunger games trilogy! The premise is obvious of course: in order to maintain control, the capital places children from the 12 districts into an arena to kill one another until there is one remaining victor. Overtime, this brutality between children has been harder and harder for me to read (I’m sure I’m not the only one?🤪). The story was gripping throughout, but also a bit repetitive in comparison to the other 4 books.

4/5!
