The first third of the book is extremely dull, but if you can get through it then it becomes more interesting. It doesn’t feel particularly creative or inventive, but the way it’s written is smart. I can respect the author’s style of narrative storytelling, but I have to acknowledge the fact that he probably didn’t need to/shouldn’t have written this particular book.

Your typical thriller but for some reason, I'm always intrigued when it's a family story where one of the children could be guilty of murder. You get to see the family dynamics, and see what things have been hidden along the way and what happened to each of them in their past.
