I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. This is another book in the music/contest series. This book is a lot darker than the first book in the series. Natalie Miller is a songwriter. She is ready to take the world by storm and college is just not giving her what she feels she needs. She makes a deal with her dad to become an intern at Arise Records. The first day starts off bad and gets worse. She finds herself indebted to the CEO, Devin Eun. Her debt is to paid by doing small favors for Devin that seem small at first but get progressively more involved and dangerous.

Jackson Rivera is a singer. All he needs is a chance and the confidence to sing in front of an audience. Natalie and Jackson's paths cross and Natalie becomes Jackson's biggest fan and supporter. She focuses on making sure she gets him in front of the right people. Even going more in debt to manage this star. They have an amazing connection but realize that both have priorities that don't include getting involved with each other.

This book is surprisingly fast paced. Readers will not be able to put this book down. The need to know what happens will overtake you. Readers will find there is a lot more going on than you think. The lengths that these characters will go to accomplish their goals will keep readers enthralled. I love the way this writer gives you the situation from several POVs. This will allow readers to really get to know the main characters.

Natalie's only goal is to make it in the music industry. Its a tough goal to achieve, but she's a shark in a fish tank ready to break out. So when she gets to be an intern for ALIVE records she's drastically excited and thinks she's one step closer to her dreams. If only she knew what was really in store for her. Love!

Jackson wants to be like every other musician and succeed with a record label. He has an amazing voice and the perfect sex appeal, but he's still a little rough around the edges and inexperienced. But when Natalie heard his voice on his submission tape she instantly knew he was going to be the next big hit. So she got him an audition, only for him to choke with stage fright. But she knows her gut feeling is telling her he's going to be huge so she fights for him. You don't get anywhere is this industry without selling your soul to the devil? Right?

Now tasked with being his manager she does everything she can for him. Including making deals with her boss whose she been in debt to. Over $10,000 in debt plus whatever she invests in Jackson. But Natalie doesn't care because she knows he's going somewhere. Even if one drunken night could change the course of their lives? From manager & client to lovers?

This may not be a typical style I've read from Leann before but she still did an amazing job. The chemistry between Natalie and Jackson was on fire and even they knew it. It was love or lust at first sight. And Jackson is adorable in the hot, sexy gentleman way. The only tiny issue was I felt that the ending was slightly rushed with finding out everything and Natalie's reaction to it all. But all in all I loved this book. Leann knocked it out of the park with another amazing novel and I can't wait to read more by her.

I received a copy of this book for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This one took some turns along the way for sure, but honestly was extremely enjoyable. A quick read, some dark parts, and overall entertaining. I thought it would be the broody type of rockstar romance but I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn’t like my expectations. like this author! Love Jackson.

What a good quick read! If you like rockstar romances, if you like a sprinkle of mafia, if you like it a little bit spicy, you will love this books. It’s a good beginner book if you are trying to dabble in spicy books. Overall I loved it and I loved the cinnamon roll character of Jackson.

Thanks to Booksirens for a copy of this book.

This exceeded my expectations actually. I hadn't expected to like Jackson so much, although he didn't develop too much by the end of the book. Sure, he fell in love and became a great singer and lost his stage fright, but it was just enough for us to notice.

My favourite part was the last delivery situation, which honestly came out of nowhere. I was expecting things to turn a bit dark but not like that. Still, it was a good book with dark elements and an incredible 'first time together' smutty scene. Man, that was hot.
