🌸 SYNOPSIS
The story continues as Yu and the others joins forces with the Persona 3 squad as they dive deeper into the rabbit hole. Together, they seem to have enough combat power to repel the new F.O.E.s in the labyrinth but that’s not the only problem, a greatest challenge is coming and most dreaded too, presenting the group date! The bell still tolls as the adventure seems to end but what will this mean for our two teams of heroes; read to find out!
🌸 OPINION
I honestly got so excited to see the Persona 3 crew come into the Persona 4 side. Yes, I did mention I favour P3 but who wouldn’t when they have a cute little puppy named Koromaru on their team.
Now for the actual story, I like how it progresses but the part that bothers me most is how it kind of ends on a combat situation and that’s it, no more manga but I do hope that maybe it may continue to the end of the game considering PQ2 is going to bless our shelves one day. Also, I love how all the Velvet room characters all come together in a way to help our team of heroes.
Another amusing point is how Mizunomoto has incorporated Atlus other games into this manga, such as Catherine as little figurines in the culture fest. I also enjoy the fact that the characters sort of crossover in a way, such as Yosuke and Junpei both losing someone and act like clowns or Kanji and Shinjiro seem rough but are soft and motherly under it all.
I kind of hope that in some world out there, they start to ship characters between the Persona series or maybe make a series where you can romance all the characters, because you can see the characters get fond of each other, like how Yukari feels fond of Yu after he saves her. Sure, this thought has little to do with the manga, but this thought was born because of this manga.
To conclude this ramble, I shall part with these words, seeing who Yu ends up with made me giggle like a madman, it was cute and amusing on so many levels. As much as I enjoyed this manga, I hate how open it ended.
🌸 PRO
The group date is hilarious and probably the best part of this manga.
Anything with Koromaru is another bonus because who doesn’t love a cute dog.
🌸 CON
How it ends on a bloody cliff hanger, seriously one of my most major pet peeves.
2 volumes and it seems incomplete.
Favourite quote from this series is when Rei is asked what her type is, and her response is gold “For beef, my type is tongue and short ribs. For Pork, I like Loin and for chicken, I like wings!” in a way, I feel like I can totally relate to Rei compared to most characters from the Persona series and I felt that since this is the second book, I can mention that considering there may be no continuation, unless I play the game, which I have been delaying to do since I lost the data when I first started to play.
So, it is recommended that one should buy the game to see the ultimate end of this series.
