Now this is what I'm talking about! After the aggressively average Map of Days, this fifth book of the Miss Peregrine series sees a return to the action-packed, unpredictable storytelling we know and love. It's like a breath of fresh air, which even the characters can't take in because they don't sit down for a second in this novel. Every chapter kept me on the edge of my seat, and every twist and turn in the narrative was somehow more exciting than the last. God I love this series!

I liked this book a bit more than I did A Map of Days but it still doesn't compare to my love of the first 3 books.

Slight spoilers so beware.

I understand why Jacob and Emma broke up. She obviously isn’t over Abe and that’s not fair to Jacob. Not to mention her calling Abe like she did and not even telling Jacob was really bad on her part. I do like how they are portrayed as a 'real' relationship, not every relationship lasts and I like how the author is showing that. I do wish they would get back together but, it’s not looking likely as Jacob is now seen kissing and developing feelings for Noor. I like her character but I don’t really care for her and Jacob’s relationship. It's most likely because I liked him and Emma but Noor and Jacob seemed to happen really fast. I know Emma and Jacob went kinda fast but no where near as fast as Jacob and Noor.
