English is not my native language, and although I'm used to reading in English it made reading this book a bit harder than expected. The anecdotes are interesting, but the language used was quite technical at times.

To say that the majority of this work was out of my depth of understanding would be accurate. However, I did find the cases discussed in this book fascinating albeit my knowledge of the intricate workings of the human brain is next to nothing.
I was torn reading this book.
It was interesting, but not ... well written?
At times I felt it lacked empathy for the patience which I had a hard time with.
For me, it read like a brilliant neurologist decided to write a book, showcasing how brilliant he is.
Having said that the stories were fascinating.
I just with the delivery had been a little different.

This book is great for people interested in neurology and the brain's phenomena. Sacks is very verbose, so keep a dictionary near. His syntax is also complex in a lengthy sense--sometimes so long that I forget the point and have to look over all the asides and parentheses to get the picture. But, it is nonetheless fascinating to read. Some cases were ones I've heard of, others were much rarer to the public and bizarre. If you're looking for intellectual stimulation, look into Oliver Sacks' books.
