starts off strong, the emotions r all there. we explore more of the mc - but the others r more on the periphery of development. the title “slip” is perfect - slip as the medium in ceramics making that keeps things together and “slip” the emotional state of jade as she slips through confusion, anger, sadness about her friends suicide attempt. Love the art style and element of magic.

The creator does a great job expressing emotion in this graphic novel. I liked the MC’s internal struggle with her best friend and the complex emotions that relationship created.

The use of red was confusing in some parts and I personally thought the romance was too sudden/came out of nowhere.

Some really great themes overall, but some of the emotional moments between characters feel unearned.

The art was nice but this was probably the most disjointed graphic novel I've ever read. The core of the story was understanding emotion, but there was a distinct lack of depth. Everything about it felt cookie cutter. The relationship was so surface level and there was no true development, and her exploration of her emotions through her art was somewhat poorly rendered.

The art was beautiful the queer rep great the magical elements and the way it explored grief and letting go of worries and things you love was amazing
