This was a chore to get through by the end, the male protagonist was essentially a saint? Walked on water? For pete's sake

Honestly more of a 2.5⭐️ I’m so sad that I’m not enjoying the characters in Abby’s first series of books because her most recent trio have been loves. The miscommunication and back and forth between the characters was driving me nuts! And the MMCs insta love and throwing a fit that the FMC didn’t want to immediately have his babies. Ugh. I hate him.

I really loved that the titles of the chapters in this book were actual songs. I knew almost every song and my indie/alt, music lover, heart was so happy. Im talking, The Neighbourhood, Arctic Monkeys, Nothing but Thieves, Bon Iver, and Fleet Foxes?! Fleet Foxes really got me lol. Whenever I started a new chapter I would listen to the songs and I feel like it added another level of depth to the story. I really enjoy Abby Jimenez's writing. It feels genuine and authentic. My only negatives of this book are the codependency between Sloan and Jason made me a UNCOMFY lol. I also appreciate Kristen being a ride or die for Sloan, but it sometimes felt like Kristen was really abrasive and borderline selfish toward her. I understand that it may have been hard for her to not have her friend around in the way she used to for 2 years, but Sloan literally lost her husband just a few days before their wedding. You cannot rush someones grief/coping. Albiet, I really enjoyed the story overall and I am trying not to be too critical of fictional characters. I'm excited to read the last installment of this series to see how it all ties together.

Pas trop mal, ça commence bien mais ça rentre assez vite dans les tropes des Romance Novels, et ça devient moyen

Thank God I'm finished. I almost DNF'd it; I do not understand how this book is so highly rated. Maybe I'm just not a romance girl, but this felt SO damn formulaic and dumb. I will say that the characters were slightly likable, and there was some humor. I freaking loved the dog, but there wasn't enough of that poor baby.

This is one of those books that hovers between three and four stars. There are some likeable characters and fizzy dialogue. There's a couple to root for, and a great dog.
But the storyline feels like a very cheesy rom-com, where the male hero is a rock star. If I was 17, I might love reading a story about a (decent, kind) rock star falling in love with a crazy-mixed up girl. Connecting factor: the dog. It actually got boring after awhile, all the touring and screaming fans and evil record label. And the end of the book is way over the top.
I do like Jimenez's writing. Maybe I'm the wrong audience for this book.
Three and a half stars.
