It's complicated.

Oof.

Honestly an absolute treat to have snuck in a quick reading of this before I wrap it up for my mom; we both often reference finding the “kernel of corn” from Brosh’s first book. I think she’ll absolutely love this (I know I did).

I love (and really respect) Allie Brosh. This is one of those books, same with [b:Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened|17571564|Hyperbole and a Half Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened|Allie Brosh|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1409522492l/17571564._SY75_.jpg|24510592], that I just can’t not give 5 stars. They give me feels. These are books I will actually laugh out loud reading too.

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Allie Brosh violently exceeds expectations with this fantastic new installment in her series of touching, painful, and hilarious observations on life, loss, and dogs. This collection shows genuine growth, and chronicles a truly horrific period in the author's life with levity and wisdom. It was worth the wait, and I can't wait to dive back in.

'Bananas' and the story about her getting cancer and her sister dying were the best ones (I cried). Duncan's angry faces in 'Bananas' are killer. Not nearly as good as the first, but there were some good gems.

I have never gone from laughing so hard my eyes are watering to chest-heaving sobs in the turn of a page.

It’s so, so good.

This book was bizarre and beautiful and brave. It made me cringe and laugh just a few minutes apart and I hope the author keeps writing.

This book was an absolute delight of sincere openness from start to finish, and it ended in such a lovely way that was so easy to connect with.

Highly recommend.

This book is like talking with a best friend you haven’t heard from in years. The kind that you can pick up right where you left off.
