Laughed and cried in equal measure through the whole book. Very much appreciated the last entry.

4.5? 5 stars?

Review to come, but I will say again that I truly admire how Allie Brosh can write such hilarious stories, quickly followed by such truly personal and devastating ones.

CW: death of a sibling by suicide

I loved the first book and her website. Allie is able to blend comedy and real, raw emotions in a way that makes everything easier to digest while still carrying an emotional punch. Her comics add levity to painful and awkward anecdotes. Her stories of being a very odd kid resonate with the little weirdo in all of us that we thought we'd outgrown.

If you read and enjoyed the first, I doubt you'll be disappointed by this one.

I was relieved when I heard this book was coming out. With no sign of the author on the internet for years, I was, admittedly, a bit worried about her. This book starts out a bit rough but, as per usual, had me crying-laughing for some of the stories and the whole thing pulled together about halfway through. She also explains where she's been. Turns out I was right to worry, but I'm glad she's gotten through that stuff so far and is back to writing books.

So worth the wait. For the bananas, cat and mouse, “today you will see my room”, Richard, and all of it.

Not as great as the first installment but entertaining none the less. Some deep meditations on grief, the content was fine but I found the graphics to not be as charming as the first book.

I love the obnoxious drawings that Allie does and her humor made me laugh cry through out the entire book. Especially about the chapter with the mystery horse poop. Great for a good laugh.

Allie is a self proclaimed weirdo. Her drawings and story telling reflect that. I've been following Allie since she had an online blog with her weird drawings. I'm definitely into it and I enjoyed this book.

Allie Brosh reminds me a lot of my self. From the fact that we both wanted to run on all fours and be a wolf as a kid, down to thanking the sun in the acknowledgements. I have always admired her work and how she shares her experiences, even if those experiences only make 80% of sense at the time. I get it. I will always love reading her stories and laughing at her silly drawings. It is good to hear from her again.

Worth the wait. Very funny and a bit sad.
