Allie Brosh, thank you!!

I laughed, I cried.

This one didn’t have the same vibe of the first book, which I absolutely loved. I can’t put my finger on what was missing but it just fell flat in comparison. But 5 stars for creativity and the ability to be candid, raw, and at the same time basically roast herself for weird childhood episodes and bad decisions. It’s a very clever (and very thick!) compendium of random vignettes illustrated in such a humorous and unexpectedly unique way.

Well this is a real kick in the feels.

Hyperbole and a Half made me a fan of Allie Brosh. This book was heavier, but considering what she’s been through, that’s understandable. I know what it’s like to feel the weight of depression and darkness and I am always rooting for Allie Brosh to write and draw her way out of it.

This book made me laugh and cry. I want to scan the last chapter to share with some of my clients. A really fun and thought provoking read.

It gets 3 stars for the laughs but the worldview (everything is pointless and unfair) broke my heart.

Yay, another Allie Brosh book! I really enjoyed this. It's similar to her first book in that it's illustrated with her wonderful drawings. Lots and lots of drawings! But it's a little different because the main theme here is not depression, unlike her first book. Solutions... does continue the memoir theme, with Brosh describing events from her life from childhood forward.

Now that I've read this, I can't wait for her next book ;)

Best book I’ve read all year. Extremely worth the wait. I cried some and laughed tons. I felt feelings. I’ll read it again and again.

Started well but interest dwindled.
