If you like horny mm vampire lit, then you’ll like this. Though if I ever hear the word “pingly” again I may scream.

I found this book to be very interesting. I loved the characters' dynamics, and how their opposing points of view develop in their relationship. The way their conflicting motivations lead to strife was fantastically done. I also found their mutual misunderstanding to be realistic. I quickly found myself falling in love with both of the main characters, to the point where I was speaking out loud to them. One thing that I wish was addressed a little bit more was the fettishistic relationship. I know it was somewhat addressed, but I wish it was done more. It felt like it was too central to their relationship. I was also a bit dissatisfied with the ending. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them, but the fact that the experiments continue, and Vampires don't get more rights was disappointing. I would have at least liked to see them working towards a better future in a more concrete way. I was also sad to see that the "sequels" deal with completely different characters. I did like the world building, but it was the characters that made me love this book. So I would have liked to see them come back in the future. The main thing I would have liked to see is more of a hint of something more. Especially since Vincent seems to have no real role in the world except for Wesley's partner.
