The Familiar is set during the Inquisition and Luzia, a scullery maid (scullion) is sent to serve a penniless family as cover for her true identity. She can perform milagritos (miracles), and must decide if revealing her abilities will allow her to improve her circumstances despite the danger of exposing who she really is to the Inquisitors. I loved this historical fiction story full of magic- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Did NOT disappoint. A little slow to start but I absolutely loved this. The ending kind of reminded me of Wicked.
