Now that I’ve finished, I can let out the breath I had been holding for an entire year while I waited for this final book to release. JEEZ. It wasn’t all happy-good-times by the end but we did get closure for everyone and some hopeful happily-ever-after-for-now.
I am just blown away by the world building and politics and lore created in this world. I will miss these characters a lot. The slow-burn side romance reminds me of my favorite Oz fantasy series, so if you like waiting - it does pay off at the end. At times I felt so moved that tears were suddenly filling my eyes. This kind of slow sneaky love for a world and its characters is hard to find and click with for me. I can’t wait to see what this author writes next. I do love this world and hope there’s more in it, but will also be excited if she tries something completely new.
