There’s good things and distractingly challenging things about this book. Flaws: some of the characters particularly Dimple and Lizzie felt like caricatures rather than characters. I didn’t feel satisfied about the reasons behind their actions, mainly Dimple’s sensitive naivety and Lizzie’s needless cruelty. The cruelty of Dimple’s mother was also a bit much, sometimes distractingly so. I also didn’t feel like the main conflict of dimple’s boyfriend was treated with enough urgency or resolved in a satisfying way. For all the trouble he caused, it turned out standing up to him was a fairly simple solution. Still, this book has obvious charm. Prince and Danny were lovely characters and the familiar element was mostly heartwarming.

This was really good. The store of five half siblings finally coming together. Nikisha, the eldest and the “leader”. Danny, the kind and easy going one. Dimple, the emotional and overly sensitive one. Lizzie, the practical and serious one. Finally, Pyrnce, the youngest one who’s still trying to figure things out. A event brings them all together. It was interesting to see how they all get to know each other and get to be at first forced to spend with each other but eventually things get better and they all gain each other and bond together.

It’s easy to read Candice. Her writing style and story telling ability is fantastic so it never really gets dull despite some questionable little things that don’t matter in the end.
