Art was beautiful, but the magical realism of it didn't grab my attention like I'd hoped it would. I had almost no idea what was happening until about halfway through the story. I'll still recommend it to teens that like magical realism and fantasy comics, but it's definitely a one-and-done for me.

A mildly confusing book with a good story and beautiful illustrations and colors!
3.5. love the style and the idea. but something about the way the story unfolded had me a little confused. i had to return to pages i already read because i felt like i missed something or i didn't understand it.
