I'm just not that interested in this story. I gave it some time and it's not pulling me in, so I'm going to abandon ship and move on.

Half read/half listened to. I like that she was shameless about capitalizing on the moment of fame to cash in with a book, and then that she took the opportunity to say real things. I know there will be people that read this book and think differently after about issues of race, gender pay gaps, drug abuse, and the criminal justice system. I like that she does not pretend to not have an ego. I like that she knows and embraces that she is in the entertainment industry. I like her.

Also, she was with Abby Wambach!?! Abby left that detail out of her memoir.

Listened to the audiobook read by the author. An awesome insight into the author’s winning and inclusive mindset, professional women’s soccer, the politics of sport, activism through celebrity, and sticking to one’s values with tenacity notwithstanding what others might say.

This was a really enjoyable read and exactly what I was looking for, given my affinity for what I knew of Megan before reading.

A short, fast paced inside peek into her upbringing, some major events that happened in her personal life, her soccer triumphs and her path into the activism that she’s also so well known for.

I found her confidence about her and her teammates’ achievements very refreshing and liberating, I hope more successful women can speak with less impulse to downplay things. I also thought her path to activism and conviction was done well, not too in your face that it could become off putting.
