Amazing art in the service of an apocalyptic metahuman war that has been done before and since in countless crossovers and comics "events." What makes this one unique is the attention paid to the relationship between humans and the metahumans they sometimes regard as gods, as well as generational conflicts between metahumans. What responsibilities do super powered individuals have to the non-super powered, and what can humans expect from the metahumans? These are the same questions asked by the faithful of all religious stripes. When we implore God in the Lord's Prayer with the words "thy kingdom come," what exactly are we asking for? This book takes a stab at that question.

This might be the most beautiful comic I’ve ever read, the art is on a different level than I’ve ever seen before. I wanted to read something that gave me a similar feeling to the original Sentry comics, and this definitely scratched the itch. I’ve always heard of Kingdom Come, but Gunn putting it on his movie box set finally got me to check it out.
A heartbreaking and hopeful story with biblical themes that I adored. Without question one of the best ever.

It's a book that really has its ups and some I don't know where this is going but in the end the conclusion to this epic is what makes it a masterpiece. Truly a beautiful story.
Classic superhero civil war set in the future. Heroes are old and tired, but their ambitions are alive and well. Good story with great Alex Ross art.
